Oak Farm Wins in the 'Residential' Category at York Design Awards 2024!
We are delighted to share that our scheme at Oak Farm, Dunnington was one of the winners of the 'Residential' category at the York Design Awards 2024 on Monday night at The Creative Centre at York St John University.
The project involved transforming redundant agricultural buildings into a modern family home, situated east of Dunnington Village and adjacent to the scenic Hagg Wood community woodland. The design sensitively integrates minimal, modern interventions that reflect a rural aesthetic, preserving the historic fabric of the site.
Collaborating with Green Building Renewables, the team adopted a fabric-first approach to refurbishment, incorporating sustainable technologies such as a ground source heat pump and an extensive solar PV array. This combination of innovative design and sustainability has garnered the project high praise and recognition.
