Care Village, Spring House Farm
Development of a large care village including an 80 bed care home and 24 supervised bungalows.
The proposals to create a care village on the outskirts of the village of Barmby Moor, York, came with its issues. The design of the care home, in a delta V, provided a screen to hide a large mass of the site creating the illusion of a refined proposal. This along with the careful design of the roof and elevations of the main building meant that views from the road offered a subtle introduction of what was a large development. This allowed for the design of the site to facilitate the requirements of the care village without imposing on the open countryside.
The Vincent & Partners team, whilst branded dc-architecture, were instructed to design and obtain the planning consent in 2014.
