North Street Hotel
An application for planning consent has been submitted for a new highly sustainable hotel development on a tight, urban site in the centre of York.
A proposed new hotel building on North Street, sits on the site of a former print works and references the history and warehouse typologies in the vicinity of the site.
Improvements to the access and urban fabric immediately surrounding the site are proposed with a large green wall to be installed on the gable of Mill House, acting as a marker for the proposals and as way-finding along a newly 'greened route' to the hotel main entrance. The design proposals will utilise low-embodied carbon and local materials within the construction and is on track to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
