Pike Hills Golf Club
Situated less than 2 miles from York, Pike Hills Golf Club is an 18-hole course revered for its immaculate greens and treelined fairways. Renovation of the clubhouse was proposed to facilitate and accommodate the expanding needs of its members and visitors alike.
In prime position overlooking the 1st tee, the clubhouse boasts unrivalled views of the course but the internal condition of the well-used building was 25 years old and in much need of an upgrade. No major refurbishment works had been undertaken and the scope for improvements was vast.
Since originally opening its doors to a predominantly male intake of members, the outdated facilities in the clubhouse had become inadequate for the increasing number of female and disabled players, and visitors. Plans to address the shortfall in usable space and improve the clubhouse to meet the demands of its discerning guests, were achieved with the addition of a new, two storey extension.
The refurbishment provided the additional floorspace to comfortably accommodate a restaurant, bar and up to 150 guests, along with new visitor facilities. The scheme was designed to retain the functionality of the building and cause minimal disruption whilst the works were being carried out.Whilst at a former practice, team members at Vincent & Partners were appointed to undertake the design and procurement of planning approval, which was granted back in 2016.
